One day, I read a small story: An old man and a kid led a donkey to a fair. At first, the kid rode the donkey, while the old man walked. Then, passers-by saw them and said the kid was naive and that he should let the old man ride the donkey. So the kid dismounted and let the old man ride it. Later on, they encountered a person who said the old man was too selfish to ride the donkey alone. Thus they rode it together. After a while, some people met them and commented that they were cruel for they would exhaust the donkey. For this reason, they got off it and walked the donkey. Again, another passing person said they were silly for they didn’t ride the available donkey. They did not know whom they should listen to. Finally, they pushed the donkey into a well and had nothing left.

A long time ago, there was a small island, where people’s necks were thick for lack of iodine. However, the residents weren’t aware and thought their necks were quite normal. Because all the people of the island were like this from generation to generation. One day, a geologist came to the island for an investigation. Seeing his neck so thin, the people of the island said he was sick and abnormal. The geologist told them the truth, “It is all of you that are sick for you are affected with severe iodine deficiency. You should eat more iodine-containing foods to solve the problem.” Yet no matter what the geologist said, they did not believe it and insisted that, “We’ve always been like this through the ages. You are abnormal! You are sick!” In order to help them free from the suffering caused by the illness, the geologist advised them to go out and take a look. After repeated exhortations by the geologist, two of them went along with him to a city outside the island. They came to a sudden realization when they saw all people’s thin necks and the laboratory report offered by the doctor. Then they admitted they were sick indeed and were willing to cooperate with the doctor.

I am from Shenyang City, and was a leader of the True Jesus Church. In 1995, a flood brought our family business to the verge of breakdown, so I went to a Christian church to seek a tower of strength. In the second half of 1996, I entered the True Jesus Church. After I joined this Church where believers prayed in tongues, I felt sure it was the only Church which had the sealing of the Holy Spirit and the proof of entering the kingdom of heaven, and that it was the ark of the last days, into which all other denominations will be integrated in the future. In 1997, I returned to my hometown to preach the gospel and establish the church, and the number of believers rapidly increased to more than forty.

Su Mingyue is a preacher of a house church in mainland China. Over the years, she has been a devout servant of the Lord who insists on doing preaching work for the Lord and bearing the burden of work for the church. She goes by Paul's word in the Bible, feeling that merely believing in the Lord is enough to be called righteous and be saved by grace. Although man still sins constantly, his sins have been forgiven by the Lord, his image will be changed instantly to become holy and he will be raised into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord arrives. Which idea is correct after all? Su Mingyue is dilemmatic and confused at heart. It is recorded clearly in the Bible that the Lord Jesus is Christ, that He is the Son of God. Yet the Eastern Lightning testifies that the incarnate Christ is the manifestation of God, that He is God Himself. So is the incarnate Christ the Son of God? Or is He God Himself? Almighty God says, "'Jesus is the beloved Son of God, in whom He is well pleased'.... That was God bearing witness to Himself, but merely from a different perspective, that of the Spirit in heaven bearing witness to His own incarnation. Jesus is His incarnation, not His Son in heaven. Do you understand? Do not the words of Jesus, 'The Father is in Me and I am in the Father,' indicate that They are one Spirit? And is it not because of the incarnation that They were separated between heaven and earth? Question: You have told us that the Lord Jesus has returned and He’s been incarnated to do His work. We all know that the Lord Jesus was the incarnation of God. Once His work was finished, He was crucified and resurrected, appearing to His disciples, and then ascended into heaven in His spiritual body. It’s just like it says in the Bible, “You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). And so, this has all been confirmed in the biblical scripture. When the Lord comes again, it will be through His resurrected spiritual body that He appears to us. Why would God choose to be in the fleshly form of the Son of man in the last days to perform His judgment? So what is the difference between these two forms, the spiritual body of the Lord Jesus and the Son of man in the flesh?

Jin Hua fetched Sister Zheng and Sister Yang (back from another province) from the railway station. After they three had lunch, she put them to bed. Jin Hua was about to lie down and take a nap when Sister Wang of her church came to tell her that ten more brothers and sisters had been arrested by the police of the CCP the day before, so she didn’t want to attend meetings and planned to go to another place to work. Hearing that, Jin Hua’s heart sank with the realization that the extent of the CCP’s persecution was becoming more and more grievous. But at that moment, she was too busy comforting Sister Wang to think more, “God uses it to test our faith in Him, and it also fulfills the sign of the Lord’s return. The Lord Jesus said, ‘Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. … But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved’ (Matthew 24:9-13). Now the prophecies of the Lord’s return have already been fulfilled and the day of the Lord has already come. Wait till He descends with the clouds, and we’ll be raptured into the kingdom of heaven. Just as the Lord Jesus said, ‘And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near’ (Luke 21:27-28). At this crucial moment, we should keep our faith in Him even more—we must endure to the end, no matter how great the persecution and tribulation. Today, our light affliction, which is but for a moment, will work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory in the future.”

177. Zhao XX, male, aged 49, from Yangquan City, a deacon of the Three-Self sect. In April 1999, someone preached Almighty God’s end-time work to him, but he resisted it vehemently and uttered blasphemies against God. He also went everywhere to seal the meeting places and disturb the others from hearing the testimony. Moreover, in the co-workers’ meetings he condemned God’s end-time work as a heresy and the fellowship about it as an evil teaching, and also instigated the brothers and sisters to reject it. On October 3, 1999, while Zhao was preaching, he was attacked by a sudden illness. He foamed at the mouth and became unconscious on the spot. On October 9, 1999, he died. This completely fulfilled the word in the Bible: “A false witness will perish.”
