The Church of Almighty God | A Story About Thick Neck and Thin Neck

The Church of Almighty God | A Story About Thick Neck and Thin Neck

Jingyuan

A long time ago, there was a small island, where people’s necks were thick for lack of iodine. However, the residents weren’t aware and thought their necks were quite normal. Because all the people of the island were like this from generation to generation. One day, a geologist came to the island for an investigation. Seeing his neck so thin, the people of the island said he was sick and abnormal. The geologist told them the truth, “It is all of you that are sick for you are affected with severe iodine deficiency. You should eat more iodine-containing foods to solve the problem.” Yet no matter what the geologist said, they did not believe it and insisted that, “We’ve always been like this through the ages. You are abnormal! You are sick!” In order to help them free from the suffering caused by the illness, the geologist advised them to go out and take a look. After repeated exhortations by the geologist, two of them went along with him to a city outside the island. They came to a sudden realization when they saw all people’s thin necks and the laboratory report offered by the doctor. Then they admitted they were sick indeed and were willing to cooperate with the doctor.

The story gives us an inspiration: Don’t think that the habitual views are right and the truth. If man stubbornly clings to his own perspective, it will only harm himself. And it reminds me that today people’s traditional means of belief has been to read the Bible; departure from the Bible is not the belief in the Lord. They constrain God’s work and words within the Bible. When someone spreads the gospel that God has carried out new work beyond the Bible and expressed new words, people immediately use the Bible to resist and judge God’s new work and words. As a result, they all refuse to accept the gospel even though many people have preached it to them, ruining their chances for salvation. Just as the Age of Grace when the Lord Jesus came to do the redemption work. As the Pharisees saw Him neither observing the Sabbath nor preaching in the temple, they then nailed Him to the cross alive for His work exceeded the laws of the Old Testament. They committed a heinous crime and were punished by God. It is the habitual conceptions and imaginations that ruin people!
God is the Creator, whose wisdom soars higher than the heavens and cannot be fathomed by anyone. His work is always new and never old. If man uses his old and habitual conceptions and imaginations to define God’s work and words, then the one who stands to lose will be only himself. Only when man transcends his own conceptions and imaginations can he welcome the Lord’s return and gain His salvation. Just as Almighty God says: “If you desire to witness the appearance of God, if you wish to follow the footprints of God, then you must first transcend your own conceptions. You must not demand that God do this or that, much less should you place Him within your own confines and limit Him to your own conceptions. Instead, you should ask how you should seek the footprints of God, how you should accept the appearance of God, and how you should submit to the new work of God; that is what should be done by man. Since man is not the truth, and is not possessed of the truth, man should seek, accept, and obey” (“The Appearance of God Has Brought a New Age”).

EasternLightningThe Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord JesusChrist of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God's work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God's sheep hear God's voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.
