I was a co-worker of the Stream of Recovery. On December 8, 1998, a brother of our church came to me to preach the work of Almighty God of the last days. He gave me a book of Almighty God’s word and asked me to read it. I was very angry and rebuked him, “We only believe in the Lord Jesus; why did you convert to the faith of another god?” Running my eyes over more than one page of the book, I laid it aside, because I thought the words were plain and simple, and too shallow. The brother said to me earnestly, “Better finish reading it, and you will know it is truly the word personally spoken by God.” “I don’t think so. Now that you insist it is God’s own word, you get a pen and a notebook, put them on the table, and ask God to speak!” I said rudely. And then I murmured to myself angrily, “You believers in Almighty God have stolen many of our lambs, and now you also want to draw me in. No way!” Then I went to the church, and called some other co-workers together and discussed how to guard against the “Eastern Lightning,” trying to work out ways to fight back against it. After that, we went to every meeting place spreading these slanderous and blasphemous words: “You mustn’t believe in the ‘Eastern Lightning.’ It is a false Christ, a false prophet, who tries to deceive people in the disguise of the Lord. What we believe in is the truth.

Question: You have told us that the Lord Jesus has returned and He’s been incarnated to do His work. We all know that the Lord Jesus was the incarnation of God. Once His work was finished, He was crucified and resurrected, appearing to His disciples, and then ascended into heaven in His spiritual body. It’s just like it says in the Bible, “You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). And so, this has all been confirmed in the biblical scripture. When the Lord comes again, it will be through His resurrected spiritual body that He appears to us. Why would God choose to be in the fleshly form of the Son of man in the last days to perform His judgment? So what is the difference between these two forms, the spiritual body of the Lord Jesus and the Son of man in the flesh?

My name is Christopher. I’m a pastor of a house church in the Philippines. I was fortunate to turn to the Lord through baptism in 1987. Then in 1996, I became a pastor of my local church. At that time, in addition to working in many places in the Philippines, I preached overseas, such as Hong Kong and Malaysia. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I felt an unfailing strength all over to work for the Lord. I always supported brothers and sisters when they were weak and passive. Sometimes, their unbelieving family were unfriendly to me, and even took offense at me, but I could forbear them and be patient with them. I always had faith in the Lord and believed that the Lord would change them. I felt that I had been changed a lot after believing in the Lord. However, since 2011, gradually, I hadn’t had such strength from the work of the Holy Spirit, nor new enlightenment in preaching. I lived in sins and was unable to break away. At home, when my wife and daughter did something contrary to my will, I couldn’t help losing my temper to lecture them on rash impulse. But later I very much regretted: Why can’t I love or tolerate them? How come I commit sins again? I felt very distressed. In order to be free from the life of sinning and confessing, I spent more effort studying the Bible, fasting and praying to the Lord, bearing my cross and subduing my body. I also found many spiritual pastors to seek and talk with, yet all my efforts were of no avail, and I had no way to practice.

They set an example by reporting and arresting the brothers and sisters preaching the kingdom gospel. Cheng Huize and others saw that the pastor and the elders had deviated from the Lord's way a long time ago, and the church had already lost the work of the Holy Spirit and had degenerated into a religious place like Babylon the Great, cursed and reviled by the Lord. Because of this, they decided to investigate the Eastern Lightning to search for the manifestation and work of God.

There are many people who, after accepting the work of Almighty God in the last days, say, “The words of Almighty God are too deep, too harsh! So harsh, this is judgment and chastisement. When can man achieve changes in life disposition, become compatible with God, and be truly cleansed?” Seeing such words, someone says with a sigh, “It is difficult to believe in God. It is easy to believe in Jesus; just taking it easy every day, you can behave however you want and do whatever fun things you want to do. If you should sin when you are having fun, just pray and you will be forgiven after you have confessed. Then you can go back to having fun. If you should sin again while you are having fun, just confess once more. Sinning every day and confessing every day, sinning and confessing, that is how your belief works. This is what believing in the Lord is like. There is no need to be judged or chastised, there is no need to practice the truth, and there is no need to fellowship about the truth. How great it is to believe in the Lord. It doesn’t interrupt with anything, it doesn’t impact my everyday life and I can still get married, it doesn’t affect me having children, or the bliss of family life. Believing in Jesus is better; you get to be happy.” Is this correct? Some people go abroad, and then they say: “The democratic system abroad is great. You can make money if you have the ability, and you can spend the money on anything you want. Oh, if I don’t enjoy myself here for a few years, then I’ll be missing out.” What kind of person is this? Tell me, what kind of person can say such things? Does God like words such as these? This is something that a person who has no love for the truth would say. The Book of Proverbs from the Bible has this to say: “For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them” (Proverbs 1:32). This is key. The purpose of a person’s life cannot be comfort, one must do something meaningful with one’s life and walk the right path. Tell me, in this world, what is the right path? Let’s put it this way: The only right path is to believe in God; all other paths are not the right path. However, this is not the whole story. The path of believing in God is a wide path, there are all sorts of belief. Because of the freedom of faith, each person has his own understanding of God, and each person has his own pursuits. Although there are many people believing in God, each with their own way in believing in God, yet whose path in believing in God is after God’s heart and can allow him to be perfected and receive the blessings of God? Tell me, is it important to have a good grasp on this matter? It is very necessary. If you don’t think so, then write these words down. If you do not choose to embark on this path right now, and then one day, if you indeed have not chosen this path, you shall be crying for days when you read these words once more, and you shall regret and feel sorry for yourself. Are you willing to take on this bet? If you do not follow these words, then let me be straight with you: You will live in regret for the rest of your life.

Su Mingyue is a preacher of a house church in mainland China. Over the years, she has been a devout servant of the Lord who insists on doing preaching work for the Lord and bearing the burden of work for the church. Which idea is correct after all? Su Mingyue is dilemmatic and confused at heart. In order to find a church with the work of the Holy Spirit to solve her practical confusion, so as not to be abandoned by the Lord, Su Mingyue decides to study the Eastern Lightning.     Lin Bo’en had believed in the Lord for decades and was a senior preacher. Ever since his acceptance of Almighty God, Christ of the last days, he had been confronted with the condemnation and rejection of the pastors, elders, and antichrist forces in the religious world and was eventually expelled from the religion. In the face of such attack, condemnation, and frame-up, Lin Bo’en didn’t shrink back but instead had a firmer faith. Also, this showed him that the pastors and elders were hypocrites in substance and at the same time allowed him to realize that only Christ is the truth, the way, and the life and that only Christ can save, purify, and perfect man. Hence, he made up his mind to follow and bear witness to Christ, pursue the truth and the transformation of his disposition as best as he could, so as to be a true witness to God. However, the CCP government learned that Lin Bo’en didn’t get reformed after his release: He not only continued his belief, but even converted to the Eastern Lightning and testified everywhere that the Lord Jesus had come back and that He was Almighty God. They issued a wanted poster for him and hunted him everywhere, so Lin Bo’en had no choice but to leave home. He went everywhere testifying to Almighty God’s work of the last days and brought to God a lot of true believers who had a good humanity. This film tells a real story of how Lin Bo’en preached the gospel to testify to God.

177. Zhao XX, male, aged 49, from Yangquan City, a deacon of the Three-Self sect. In April 1999, someone preached Almighty God’s end-time work to him, but he resisted it vehemently and uttered blasphemies against God. He also went everywhere to seal the meeting places and disturb the others from hearing the testimony. Moreover, in the co-workers’ meetings he condemned God’s end-time work as a heresy and the fellowship about it as an evil teaching, and also instigated the brothers and sisters to reject it. On October 3, 1999, while Zhao was preaching, he was attacked by a sudden illness. He foamed at the mouth and became unconscious on the spot. On October 9, 1999, he died. This completely fulfilled the word in the Bible: “A false witness will perish.”

It is recorded clearly in the Bible that the Lord Jesus is Christ, that He is the Son of God. Yet the Eastern Lightning testifies that the incarnate Christ is the manifestation of God, that He is God Himself. So is the incarnate Christ the Son of God? Or is He God Himself? Almighty God says, "'Jesus is the beloved Son of God, in whom He is well pleased'.... That was God bearing witness to Himself, but merely from a different perspective, that of the Spirit in heaven bearing witness to His own incarnation. Jesus is His incarnation, not His Son in heaven. Do you understand? Do not the words of Jesus, 'The Father is in Me and I am in the Father,' indicate that They are one Spirit? And is it not because of the incarnation that They were separated between heaven and earth? In reality, They are still one; no matter what, it is simply God bearing witness to Himself" (The Word Appears in the Flesh).
