My name is Christopher. I’m a pastor of a house church in the Philippines. I was fortunate to turn to the Lord through baptism in 1987. Then in 1996, I became a pastor of my local church. At that time, in addition to working in many places in the Philippines, I preached overseas, such as Hong Kong and Malaysia. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I felt an unfailing strength all over to work for the Lord. I always supported brothers and sisters when they were weak and passive. Sometimes, their unbelieving family were unfriendly to me, and even took offense at me, but I could forbear them and be patient with them. I always had faith in the Lord and believed that the Lord would change them. I felt that I had been changed a lot after believing in the Lord. However, since 2011, gradually, I hadn’t had such strength from the work of the Holy Spirit, nor new enlightenment in preaching. I lived in sins and was unable to break away. At home, when my wife and daughter did something contrary to my will, I couldn’t help losing my temper to lecture them on rash impulse. But later I very much regretted: Why can’t I love or tolerate them? How come I commit sins again? I felt very distressed. In order to be free from the life of sinning and confessing, I spent more effort studying the Bible, fasting and praying to the Lord, bearing my cross and subduing my body. I also found many spiritual pastors to seek and talk with, yet all my efforts were of no avail, and I had no way to practice.

“Christ of the last days brings life, and brings the enduring and everlasting way of truth. This truth is the path through which man shall gain life, and the only path by which man shall know God and be approved by God. If you do not seek the way of life provided by Christ of the last days, then you shall never gain the approval of Jesus, and shall never be qualified to enter the gate of the kingdom of heaven, for you are both a puppet and prisoner of history. Those who are controlled by regulations, by letters, and shackled by history will never be able to gain life, and will never be able to gain the perpetual way of life. That is because all they have is turbid water that has lain stagnant for thousands of years, instead of the water of life that flows from the throne. Those who are not supplied with the water of life will forever remain corpses, playthings of Satan, and sons of hell. How, then, can they behold God? If you only try to hold on to the past, only try to keep things as they are by standing still, and do not try to change the status quo and discard history, then will you not always be against God? The steps of God’s work are vast and mighty, like surging waves and rolling thunders—yet you sit and passively await destruction, sticking to your folly and doing nothing. In this way, how can you be considered someone who follows in the footsteps of the Lamb? How can you justify the God that you hold on to as a God who is always new and never old? And how can the words of your yellowed books carry you across the threshold of the new age? How can they lead you to seek the steps of God’s work?And how can they take you up to heaven? What you hold in your hands is the letters that can provide but temporary solace, not the truths that are capable of giving life. The scriptures you read are that which can only enrich your tongue, not words of wisdom that can help you know human life, much less the ways that can lead you to perfection. Does this discrepancy not give you cause for reflection? Does it not allow you to understand the mysteries contained within? Are you capable of delivering yourself to heaven to meet God on your own? Without the coming of God, can you take yourself into heaven to enjoy family happiness with God? Are you still dreaming now? I suggest, then, that you stop dreaming, and look at who is working now, at who is now carrying out the work of saving man during the last days. If you do not, you shall never gain the truth, and shall never gain life.”

There are many people who, after accepting the work of Almighty God in the last days, say, “The words of Almighty God are too deep, too harsh! So harsh, this is judgment and chastisement. When can man achieve changes in life disposition, become compatible with God, and be truly cleansed?” Seeing such words, someone says with a sigh, “It is difficult to believe in God. It is easy to believe in Jesus; just taking it easy every day, you can behave however you want and do whatever fun things you want to do. If you should sin when you are having fun, just pray and you will be forgiven after you have confessed. Then you can go back to having fun. If you should sin again while you are having fun, just confess once more. Sinning every day and confessing every day, sinning and confessing, that is how your belief works. This is what believing in the Lord is like. There is no need to be judged or chastised, there is no need to practice the truth, and there is no need to fellowship about the truth. How great it is to believe in the Lord. It doesn’t interrupt with anything, it doesn’t impact my everyday life and I can still get married, it doesn’t affect me having children, or the bliss of family life. Believing in Jesus is better; you get to be happy.” Is this correct? Some people go abroad, and then they say: “The democratic system abroad is great. You can make money if you have the ability, and you can spend the money on anything you want. Oh, if I don’t enjoy myself here for a few years, then I’ll be missing out.” What kind of person is this? Tell me, what kind of person can say such things? Does God like words such as these? This is something that a person who has no love for the truth would say. The Book of Proverbs from the Bible has this to say: “For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them” (Proverbs 1:32). This is key. The purpose of a person’s life cannot be comfort, one must do something meaningful with one’s life and walk the right path. Tell me, in this world, what is the right path? Let’s put it this way: The only right path is to believe in God; all other paths are not the right path. However, this is not the whole story. The path of believing in God is a wide path, there are all sorts of belief. Because of the freedom of faith, each person has his own understanding of God, and each person has his own pursuits. Although there are many people believing in God, each with their own way in believing in God, yet whose path in believing in God is after God’s heart and can allow him to be perfected and receive the blessings of God? Tell me, is it important to have a good grasp on this matter? It is very necessary. If you don’t think so, then write these words down. If you do not choose to embark on this path right now, and then one day, if you indeed have not chosen this path, you shall be crying for days when you read these words once more, and you shall regret and feel sorry for yourself. Are you willing to take on this bet? If you do not follow these words, then let me be straight with you: You will live in regret for the rest of your life.
